Notice Regarding a Change of Our Parent Company
Our parent company, Sony Life Singapore Pte. Ltd. ("SLS"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony Life Insurance Co., Ltd. ("Sony Life"), has entered into a conditional agreement to transfer all the shares in Sony Life Financial Advisers Pte Ltd (“SLFA”) to OnePlatform International Ltd. ("OnePlatform"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of AGBA Group Holdings Ltd (“AGBA”). The agreement is subject to the approval of the relevant regulatory authorities.
The transaction is expected to be finalised by the 3rd Quarter of 2023.
SLFA is a licensed financial adviser and exempt insurance broker in Singapore. Originally established as a joint venture with Starts Securities Co., Ltd. (“Starts”) in June 2017, SLS acquired all the shares held by Starts on 23 March 2023 making SLS the sole shareholder of SLFA.
It is the intention of the parties that the transfer will have no impact on the insurance policies of SLFA customers, subject to the approval of and conditions imposed by regulators. There is no need for clients of SLFA to take any action in respect of their insurance policies at the present time. The existing services offered by SLFA will remain available to clients after the completion of the share transfer in the same way as presently, including being served by the existing team.
